Range Rover Classic Brake Calipers

The Range Rover Classic's brake calipers are tired. They need to be reconditioned.

I took the brake calipers off the truck and soaked them in diesel to break up all the crap on them. You can see in these pictures why it was necessary to rebuild the calipers. The left rear isn't working any longer. And the right rear hangs and you can smell the burnt pads when you are in the wheel well.

They weren't at all challenging to take off, two bolts each and only a little bit of grunting. The worse part was taking off the brake lines and catching all the fluid so it didn't get on the floor. I improvised a couple of catch pans out of the lids to the cat litter barrels.

You can see the front caliper in this pic. The rear were the same to remove and you can see one in this pic. You can see in this pic that they had quite a bit of crap on them.
