2003 Discovery SE
I purchased the Discovery from a local owner. I had looked all over for a Discovery 2 SE7. But as I found out
there were none locally. One in Tulsa showed up and there were 5 or 6 in Texas at the various dealerships. I wasn't
excited about driving to Texas to buy a truck that I couldn't even get a salesman to email me back on. If you put
a vehicle ON THE INTERNET you'd think you might find someone in another state that might want to purchase it and might
not want to drive a few hundred miles to look at it only to find it was sold or was a lemon. But hey, whatever.
So I got this one and have been pleased with it so far. It's definately a different ride from the Range Rover. The 4.6
always pleases me when I press the accelerator. The gas mileage leaves a bit to be desired at 13.5 MPG overall. But
the wife likes the accessiblity of the rear area.
I haven't upgraded anything on her yet. RovErica was driving her in November 2006 and managed to get bumped from the
rear by a Buick. The bumper held up amazingly well. The fog lights were smashed but the bumper on has a couple of cracks.
This is a good reason to upgrade the rear bumper. I'm kicking around building a bumper like Disco Mike from the Land
Rovers Only Forum.
My friends from my gaming clan were teasing me about how plain she looked. Thusly I named her Plain Jane. They thought
she needed more bling and photoshopped some modifications.
Improvements and Updates
Thanks for reading and happy Rovering. |
